The Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency, Riffat Mukhtar Raja, has taken disciplinary action against seven officers for corruption, negligence, and abuse of authority.
The move follows similar action a day earlier against seven other officials, underscoring the agency’s intensified internal accountability campaign.
According to an FIA spokesperson, Assistant Sub-Inspector Naveed Hussain Mazhar and Assistant Sub-Inspector Sharjeel Siddique were dismissed from service due to prolonged and unauthorised absence from duty.
Another officer, ASI Jawad Ahmed Talha, received a three-year penalty of withheld promotion after investigators found that he had been in contact with a human smuggler during his posting at Islamabad Airport.

ASI Muhammad Faheem was penalised with a two-year promotion ban for remaining absent from duty. Meanwhile, Head Constable Waqar Hameed, Constable Saqib Ali, and Constable Haider Ali were also handed two-year promotion stoppages for their involvement in an illegal raid.
The FIA spokesperson said the disciplinary measures were imposed after violations involving corruption, negligence, misuse of authority, and breaches of professional conduct were established.
DG Riffat Mukhtar Raja said the purpose of departmental accountability is to enforce strict adherence to legal and professional standards across the agency. He stressed that corruption and abuse of authority will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He added that officers found involved in corruption, negligence, or weak investigations have no place in the FIA, and that a robust accountability mechanism is actively working to remove such elements from the organisation.
The FIA chief further stated that firm and consistent action against illegal conduct is critical to combating human smuggling and institutional corruption, adding that negligent officers will continue to face decisive punishment.
