The Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has enforced strict disciplinary measures. Seven FIA officers faced penalties for charges including corruption, misuse of authority, and negligence, according to an official statement released on Tuesday.
Three officers were dismissed from service entirely:
- Inspector Fakhar Abbas and Constable Ghulam Mustafa were terminated for conducting an illegal raid and engaging in extortion.
- Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Ahsan Miskeen was dismissed for allegedly accepting money from a passenger at Sialkot Airport.
Demotions and Withheld Promotions for Procedural Violations
Other officers received penalties for integrity lapses in immigration processes:
- Sub-Inspector Tanzil Rasool was demoted to the rank of ASI for granting illegal immigration clearance at Karachi Airport.
- Inspector Fahad Iqbal received a two-year promotion ban for similar violations at Islamabad Airport.
- Sub-Inspectors Kiran Fareed and Wasim Ubaid faced one-year and two-year promotion bans, respectively, for facilitating illegal immigration clearance.

Director General Riffat Mukhtar reiterated the agency’s commitment to integrity. He vowed to continue departmental accountability to ensure strict compliance with legal and professional standards. “Corruption and misuse of authority will not be tolerated,” DG Mukhtar stated. He emphasised that “there is no place in the FIA for officials involved in corruption or negligence.”
