The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Circle at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport apprehended four passengers in two separate operations on Sunday for holding fake visas.
An FIA spokesperson revealed to the local news channel ARY News, that three arrested individuals were caught with counterfeit visas intended for travel to Guinea. At the same time, the fourth had arrived from Iraq using a fraudulent visa.
The individuals arrested, identified as Muhammad Javed, Muhammad Asghar, and Abdul Jabbar, had reportedly paid a significant sum to an agent to secure these fake visas. Another accused, Daniyal, hailing from Dera Ismail Khan, acquired his Iraqi visa for Rs 250,000 without ever visiting the Iraqi embassy, indicating a similar fraudulent arrangement facilitated by an agent.
Following their arrest, the four individuals were transferred to the FIA Passport Circle, where they face further legal proceedings. This incident underscores ongoing concerns about visa fraud and sophisticated methods of bypassing immigration controls at international entry points.
