Federal Government Announces Reduction in Petroleum Prices

The federal government has announced a reduction in petroleum prices to provide ongoing relief to the public. According to an official notification, petrol and diesel prices will decrease effective October 1.

Petrol will drop by Rs2.07 per litre, reducing the price from Rs249.10 to Rs247.03 per litre. High-speed diesel (HSD) will see a reduction of Rs3.40 per litre, bringing its price down to Rs246.29 per litre.

Additionally, light diesel will decrease by Rs1.03 per litre, with the new price set at Rs140.90 per litre. Kerosene will also see a reduction of Rs3.57 per litre, lowering its cost from Rs158.47 to Rs154.90.

Since June 1, 2024, petrol prices have decreased by Rs21.23 per litre, while diesel prices have dropped by Rs18.67 per litre.

This price cut is being implemented under the direction of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the aim is to pass the benefits directly to the public.

The new prices will take effect at midnight tonight.
