Frontier Corps (FC) killed two suspected suicide bombers in retaliatory fire after they attempted to attack a border post in Khyber Agency on Friday morning.
According to FC officials said two suspected militants, wearing suicide vests, opened fire at the Frontier Corps’ (FC) Jarobi Camp, close to the Afghan border, and attempted to enter through the main gate.
In retaliatory fire, one suspected suicide bomber was killed while the other blew himself up, injuring two FC officials.
The injured officials were transported to Peshawar for treatment via helicopter.
Sources said following the incident, the FC launched a search operation in the area and also conducted retaliatory fire at suspected militant hideouts across the border.
In a statement, the Pakistan Army said terrorists, including two suicide bombers, from across the border attempted to attack the Misthara Post, around two kilometres northwest of Jarobi on the Pak-Afghan border.
The main headquarters of the FC in the tribal agency is located in Landi Kotal tehsil.
