From October 01, 2025, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) will initiate a crackdown on tax evaders targeting individuals who present themselves as affluent on social media but fail to pay taxes.

The FBR team monitored social media and discovered individuals posting about luxury items such as expensive cars, motorcycles, yachts, large homes, and jewellery. Notably, these individuals have not filed their tax returns. The team also observed videos showing money being thrown at weddings and parties.

FBR targets wealthy social media users for lavish lifestyle. FBR authorities warn action against those flaunting bungalows, cars, jewellery and family foreign trips but failed to file or update their tax returns as per their actual income. #FBR #Socialmedia #Lavishlifestyle pic.twitter.com/7FSel0So3h

NADRA helped find these people. FBR got info on their spending. This includes credit card buys, ATM use, and trips abroad. A full list is ready now. September 30 is the final date to file returns. No more time will be given. Individuals who consistently display wealth online without paying taxes will receive notices. They may face court.
