The military trial of former Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed is expected to conclude within the next few weeks.
Faiz Hameed’s lawyer, Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq along with two associates, are representing the ex-spymaster, who faces several charges.
Barrister Ashfaq refrained from confirming whether Gen (retd) Faiz would testify against Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, citing the confidentiality of the proceedings under the Official Secrets Act. He also responded to inquiries about initiating the military trial, stating he could not deny the reports he had seen in various media outlets.

When asked about the potential conclusion of the trial, Ashfaq indicated it was difficult to predict but suggested it could be in the coming weeks. He affirmed that Gen (retd) Faiz had denied allegations of influencing the PTI and described his post-retirement political interactions as routine social activities.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has formally charged Faiz with multiple offences, including engaging in unauthorized political activities and breaches of the Official Secrets Act, which they say have threatened national security and interests. Additional charges against him include misuse of authority, misappropriation of government resources, and causing harm to individuals.
