The Europen Unions’ embargo on Pakistan Airlines (PIA) flights are expected to be lifted soon.
According to sources, the Audit team of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) will undertake a remote web inspection of flight safety and engineering. Furthermore, EASA will examine CAA and PIA before authorizing Pakistani flights to Europe.
PIA’s spokesperson said all preparations for EASA’s online assessment are complete and that the airline’s operations would restart in Europe after a successful audit.
The EASA revoked PIA’s ability to fly to EU states.
The limitations were introduced after the 2022 Karachi plane tragedy and Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar’s allegation that 40% of Pakistani pilots held false licenses.
