Etihad Airways resumed flight operations to Peshawar on September 29, 2025. Flight EY 276 landed at Bacha Khan International Airport from Abu Dhabi, the Pakistan Aviation Authority (PAA) announced. The aircraft received a traditional water salute, marking the carrier’s first flight to the city since 2014.
The PAA statement detailed, “Etihad Airways will now operate five weekly flights between Abu Dhabi and Peshawar on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. The flights will depart from Peshawar as EY 277 at 8 am.” The new connections enhance global connectivity, offering passengers greater choice and convenience. The PAA emphasised its commitment to safe, efficient, and world-class airport operations.

Etihad is the third international airline to launch services to Peshawar in 2025. Flyadeal commenced flights from Riyadh to Peshawar and Islamabad in August. Its inaugural flight arrived early and was greeted with a water salute. Flydubai commenced operations in May with flight FZ-375 from Dubai, carrying 164 passengers. This was celebrated with a water cannon salute and a cake-cutting ceremony.
Peshawar’s growing international flight roster, with a 20% increase in foreign carriers in 2025 (PAA data), boosts Pakistan’s aviation sector and tourism. Etihad’s return, serving 10% of Pakistan’s international passengers (CAA, 2025), strengthens economic ties between the UAE and Pakistan. Pakistan remains a key trade partner.
Etihad Airways’ resumption of five weekly flights to Peshawar marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s aviation. With Flyadeal and Flydubai, the city’s global links expand.
