Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain urged to treat Urdu speaking as equal citizen of Pakistan.
Addressing MQM General Workers Convention, MQM chief asked establishment, “Just tell us clearly, if you do not want to treat us as equal citizens of Pakistan.”
Accusing establishment, Altaf said “Whenever I try to kick out the agents of establishment, who have penetrated the ranks of MQM, the establishment starts targeting MQM so I could not expel such element from my party.”
Referring to sit-in of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) in Islamabad, if it was MQM, instead of PTI and PAT, they would have never been allowed to enter Islamabad.
He alleged that establishment have always tried to achieve minus-Altaf formula in MQM.
Reiterating his demand for the creation of new administrative units, MQM chief refuted the allegations that he wants to divide Sindh.
Altaf said, “Sindh is my motherland.”
“By creating new administrative units no province or country disintegrates,” he added. Giving example of Saudi Arabia, Altaf asked, “Why Sindh can not be divided into East, West, North and South zones?”
