Quetta : Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that enemies of Pakistan wanted to weaken and destabilize it through conspiracies but the government is determined to foil their nefarious desgins.
He was presiding over a high level meeting on law and order situation in Balochistan in the backdrop of recent Mastung incident. The prime minister arrived in Quetta early on Tuesday morning. He said that Pakistan’s enemies were not happy with Pakistan’s progress. He said whenever Pakistan started moving on the path of progress, such hurdles start creeping in.
He said that the government was determined to eliminate the menace of extremism and terrorism. He said that operation Zarb-e-Azb going on successfully in North Waziristan would continue till the elimination of last terrorist. He vowed to eradicate terrorism and bring prosperity in Pakistan come what may.
Nawaz said that several areas in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) have been cleared of terrorists and the displaced persons were going back to their homes. Earlier, Balochistan Chief Secretary briefed the meeting on law and order situation in the province in general and Mastung incident in particular. On the occasion, the meeting offered fateha for the departed souls of Mastung victims.
Balochistan Governor Mohammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, State Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Mir Jam Kamal, Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch and Senior Provincial Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri attended the meeting.
Provincial Home Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Nasir Khan Janjua and IG Frontier Corps Major General Sher Afghan, Balochistan IG and DIG Police and other senior officials were also present there.
