In Faisalabad, a tragic event unfolded when an employee, Haris, took his own life due to ongoing non-payment of wages.
Haris, a long-serving employee at the well-known Sutramandi market, had persistently sought payment of his overdue wages from his employers, Ali Manwar, Tayyib, and Manwar Sahib. Additionally, he requested the release of his brother-in-law’s earnings, which were also being withheld.
In a harrowing WhatsApp message sent to his employer, Ali, shortly before his death, Haris expressed his desperation, “Forgive me, Mr. Ali. I am about to take a step.” This poignant message highlighted his acute distress.
Despite his long service and multiple pleas, his calls for help were ignored, leading to his heartbreaking decision. The local police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
