During the Atreju political event hosted by the Brothers of Italy party, Elon Musk, the proprietor of X (formerly known as Twitter), discussed advertisers’ return to the platform and expressed his views on Italy’s low birth rate.
Musk reassured that the social media network was recovering from a recent advertising boycott, which he previously warned could be detrimental to the company’s survival.
Musk noted that brand advertisers are typically cautious about their brand image but believed their concerns regarding X were short-term. He also criticized the “woke mind virus” he claims has affected some organizations, describing it as divisive and anti-meritocratic.
On immigration, Musk expressed support for legal immigration, emphasizing the importance of welcoming hardworking and honest individuals while advocating for stricter controls on illegal immigration.
Highlighting a significant demographic issue, Musk warned about the potential disappearance of populations if birth rates do not increase. He pointed specifically to Italy’s low fertility rate, suggesting it could deter businesses from investing there. This concern about demographic trends ties into broader discussions about economic sustainability and workforce availability in the country.
