Kanye West’s presence on X (previously Twitter) has raised significant worries, tarnishing the acclaimed legacy of the 47-year-old artist.
The controversy ignited on the Grammys red carpet last week when he encouraged his wife, Bianca Censori, to reveal her see-through dress to photographers. Surprisingly, their evening ended shortly after the photo session, as they opted to attend a private party, highlighting Censori’s appearance as the main agenda. West later boasted that Censori had garnered more Google searches than the Grammy Awards.
However, this event was merely the start of a series of troubling actions. West has continued to unleash a barrage of provocative posts on X, ranging from declaring allegiance to extreme ideologies, hurling insults at various communities, promoting contentious merchandise, and even sharing explicit content. His behaviour raises questions about his mental health, although he claimed on The Download podcast that his condition was not a bipolar disorder but autism—a statement met with scepticism.
Even Elon Musk has distanced himself, as indicated by his decision to unfollow West, suggesting a possible limit to his tolerance. This unfollow might signal a significant turning point, hinting at potential repercussions for West’s continued presence on the platform.
In light of these developments, prominent figures like Travis Scott and Tyler, the Creator, have also disassociated from the West. As the situation escalates, it becomes evident that West might continue on this detrimental path unless intervention is taken, potentially damaging his reputation and career irreversibly.
