Eleven terrorists were killed in two distinct operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday.
The military’s media wing reported that the operations were intelligence-based, targeting terrorist sanctuaries in DI Khan. A significant exchange of fire resulted in the death of ten terrorists who had been active in attacks against security personnel and civilians.
Weapons and ammunition were also seized from the deceased terrorists, according to the ISPR statement.
In North Waziristan, another operation led to the elimination of one terrorist. The local community has supported these actions, reflecting a strong resolve to eradicate terrorism from the region.
Previously, security forces had neutralized seven terrorists at the Pakistan-Afghan border in North Waziristan’s Spinkai, Ghulam Khan area. The militants, attempting to infiltrate, were engaged in a fierce firefight, resulting in their deaths and the recovery of a substantial cache of weapons.
The ISPR highlighted ongoing efforts to prompt the Afghan interim government to enhance border management to prevent cross-border terrorism.
Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to safeguarding the nation’s borders and combating terrorism, as reaffirmed by the ISPR.
The ongoing anti-terror efforts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been substantial, with Inspector General of Police Akhtar Hayat Khan reporting 88 terrorists neutralized since January 2024.
