Eight members of Jamaatul Ahrar (JA) militants surrendered to the security forces in Mohmand Agency Monday night.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement, Jamaatul Ahrar, a splinter group of the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the recent suicide bombing in Parachinar, which came less than two months after a bomb ripped through the main vegetable market in the same city on January 21.
“We were brainwashed by the enemies of Pakistan to carry out attacks in our own country,” they said in a statement. “Terrorism is against the teachings of our religion and our conscience,” they said.
