Sindh Cancels Transport Officials’ Eidul Fitr 2025 Holidays

The Sindh government announced changes regarding Eidul Fitr 2025, stating that transport officials will not have the holiday off.

The official holidays for Eid ul-Fitr in 2025 are from March 31 to April 2. However, Sindh Transport staff must be on duty to ensure everyone’s travel arrangements are fair.

Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon explained the reasoning behind this decision, stating, “We’re protecting passengers.” He noted that during Eid, there is often a spike in overcharging. Transport workers will be available to assist commuters in addressing this. The goal is to ensure that rides are smooth and free from exploitation. This marks a significant change for the season.

Memon laid it out. “Don’t pay extra,” he told citizens. Transporters got a warning, too. “Overcharge and face action,” he said. The Sindh Services Department issued the notice. It’s all about control during the festive rush. Violations won’t slide.

Eid brings challenges yearly, with numerous complaints about overcharging during Eidul Fitr and Eidul Adha. This time, the Sindh government is taking action. Transport officials will closely monitor fares to prevent price hikes. With holidays cancelled, they are vigilant. This strategy for Eidul Fitr 2025 in Sindh could set a precedent for future celebrations.
