Pakistanis are set to relish six days of holidays for Eidul Fitr, which are expected to commence on April 10.
Meteorological sources indicate that the Lunar calendar foresees a 29-day Ramazan, leading to nationwide Eidul Fitr festivities on April 10. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts the sighting of the Shawwal moon on the evening of April 9, aligning with Ramazan’s 29th day.
Eid holidays traditionally start a day before the festival for essential preparations. If the government opts for a holiday from April 9 (Tuesday) through April 12 (Friday), the populace will enjoy a six-day break, factoring in the weekend as a public holiday.
The government will officially announce the final holiday schedule following discussions with the PMD and other pertinent bodies.
