The Eid ul Fitr 2026 date in Pakistan update has attracted nationwide attention after the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued its latest forecast regarding the Shawwal moon.
According to the department, the crescent is unlikely to be sighted on the 29th of Ramadan. Officials stated that the new moon will be born at 6:23 AM on March 19.
By sunset that day, the moon’s age will be approximately 12 to 13 hours. As a result, the PMD considers it highly improbable that the Shawwal crescent will be visible.

The Eid al-Fitr 2026 date in Pakistan ultimately depends on verified moon-sighting testimonies. The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee is the authorised body responsible for reviewing reports from across the country.
While astronomical forecasts provide guidance, the official announcement will be made only after the committee examines and verifies the testimonies.
