Pakistan will celebrate Eid ul Fitr today, Monday, March 31, 2025, following the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s announcement.
The committee confirmed that the Shawwal moon was sighted nationwide, marking the end of Ramadan’s fasting month. Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, who chaired the meeting in Islamabad, announced the news at a press conference, sparking joy across the country.
The gathering at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony included committee members, plus experts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Suparco, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. Zonal and district committees met simultaneously at their headquarters. “We received credible sightings from Lahore, Bahawalpur, Islamabad, and more,” Azad said. Clear skies aided visibility, leading to a unanimous decision for Shawwal 1.
