The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has been summoned to meet on March 30, 2025, to see the Shawwal moon and announce the date of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting will be held in Islamabad, while zonal committees will convene at their respective locations.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the Shawwal moon is expected to be born on March 29, 2025, at 3:58 AM. The moon will remain visible for approximately 70 minutes after sunset on March 30. The PMD stated that the 20-hour-old moon would be easily visible to the naked eye and around 27 hours old by sight.

Based on these predictions, Eid-ul-Fitr 2025 is likely to fall on Monday, March 31, 2025, following the completion of 29 days of Ramadan.

The federal government has announced a three-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr from March 31 to April 2, 2025. A notification issued by the Cabinet Division confirmed the holiday schedule.
