Renowned rapper Drake has made his feelings about marriage and relationships clear. At 36, the Grammy Award-winning artist recently opened up on ‘The Good Podcast with Bobbi Althoff,’ delving into his perspective on matrimonial bonds and why he’s yet to walk down the aisle.
Exploring Drake’s Views on Matrimony
Drake, whose birth name is Aubrey Graham, shared his perception of marriage, describing it as something seemingly from “ancient times.” He was, however, open to the possibility of a future marital commitment.
The rapper expressed uncertainty about being able to provide what a potential spouse might desire, particularly a consistent presence, given his career commitments. “I don’t think I can offer somebody what they’d be looking for—just consistency. I think my life, my work is my priority,” Drake disclosed.
Drake’s Relationship Perspective
As the conversation shifted towards Drake’s romantic relationships, the rapper dismissed the suggestion by Althoff that his hesitation to commit was linked to a desire to maintain a free, uninhibited lifestyle. Drake instead identified his inability to provide constancy in a relationship as the prime deterrent.
The acclaimed artist admitted his apprehension about marriage, fearing the prospect of letting his partner down. He added that he didn’t envision a marital bond with a fellow celebrity. “I probably will not end up marrying someone famous,” Drake professed, adding that he finds unique, humorous individuals more appealing than the conventional “carbon copy” personalities.
Despite his ambivalence about marriage, Drake’s life has been enriched by fatherhood. He fathered his son, Adonis, with French artist Sophie Brussaux in 2017, a life-changing experience he cherishes despite his continued bachelor status.
