Soon after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader initiated his Azadi March from Zaman Park, Lahore towards the federal capital, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri also announced to launch ‘Inqelab March’ (revolution march) from Model Town on Thursday.

While addressing a press conference outside Minhajul Quran in Model Town, Dr Qadri said, “The Inqelab March is leaving Model Town for Islamabad. I want to wish the country a happy Independence Day. The revolution march will give the constitutional and democratic rights to the oppressed of this country.”

He also unveiled the goals of his revolution march before leaving and said that the fundamental purpose of this march is to restore democracy and alleviate poverty. He said that his revolution would provide people with their social rights and would practice accountability of leaders to abolish corruption.

Furthermore, he also said that introducing electoral reforms is also one of the basic goals of his revolution and said that there would be no space for martial law.
