Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Rehman Malik visited Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chairman Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri at his container in Red Zone area of Islamabad on Sunday.
Rehman Malik visit came after Qadri’s defamation notice to PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
After meeting with Dr. Qadri, Malik announced a “ceasefire” between the chief of the both parties.
He said that the constitution only allows mid-term elections in the country if Prime Minister resigns own accord, However PPP wants the federal government to complete its constitutional terms.
The People’s Party senator added that the political jirgah will take the negotiation process forward after it receives key explanations from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
