Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan today lashed out at MQM head Altaf Hussain for his remarks against PTI’s women workers.
Addressing a press conference at his Bani Gala residence, Khan denounced Hussain’s tirade against PTI’s women in a televised speech on Saturday night. “Altaf Hussain is a coward, who has been living abroad for over two decades,” he said.
He announced that PTI would not sit in any forum, which was attended by Hussain’s MQM party.
Khan urged federal government to give UK authorities access to the two witnesses wanted in Imran Farooq murder case. “Mian sahib, we have given you all the backing we can despite the rigging that took place in the elections. Now is the time for action. It is time for you to take action against terrorism – without discrimination.”
Khan called upon MQM’s supporters to distance themselves from Hussain.“Not everyone in MQM is a killer. We know some people who are very educated. But the party’s militant wing needs to be eliminated.” “I don’t understand why Karachi’s educated people tolerate a man like Altaf Hussain.”
The PTI chief also said that there should be indiscriminate action against all forms of terrorism. He alleged that traders and journalists of Karachi were getting threats from MQM.
Earlier, PTI Karachi leader Ali Zaidi gave a 48-hour ultimatum to Altaf to apologise to its female activists, else the former will file a defamation suit against him in London.
“Altaf Hussain sb, we are giving you 48 hours to take back your words and seek an apology from our women workers — especially Shireen Mazari. Otherwise we will file a defamation suit against you,” he said
