Donald Trump’s Plane Makes Unscheduled Landing Due to Mechanical Issues
CBS News, citing airport officials, reported that former U.S. President Donald Trump’s plane was forced to land in Billings, Montana, on Friday due to a mechanical issue. The incident occurred before a rally in Bozeman, approximately 150 miles west of Billings.
Details of the technical snag remain unconfirmed, but Billings-Logan International Airport confirmed that the aircraft landed without incident. Trump subsequently continued his journey to Bozeman aboard another private plane.
The rally, originally set for 8 pm local time on Friday, marks Trump’s first public gathering of the week. This event comes shortly after an incident less than a month ago when Trump was shot during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Despite recent challenges, Trump has been actively campaigning, having launched his bid to reclaim the presidency in November 2022. He is seeking to become only the second U.S. president to win two non-consecutive terms.
Trump’s visit to Montana is part of his efforts to support Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy in the upcoming November elections against Democratic incumbent Senator Jon Tester.
