Disney’s “Snow White” premiered on Friday and made a strong impression, grossing $16 million. The musical remake was screened in 4,200 cinemas.
Starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, and directed by Marc Webb, this new adaptation of “Snow White” has become the top attraction of the weekend and is off to an impressive start.
The film performs well in tracking and could reach $45 million by Sunday. If it does, it will mark the second-best opening 2025, following “Captain America: Brave New World.” However, its $250 million budget is a significant concern.
Critics have provided negative reviews, while fans gave it a “B+” rating on CinemaScore. Disney is counting on positive word-of-mouth to enhance its success.

Warner Bros. has seen a setback with “The Alto Knights,” which failed at the box office, earning only $1.17 million from 2,651 theatres. Critics and fans alike gave it a modest “B” grade. With a production cost of $45 million, this is considered a significant loss for the studio. Warner Bros. is now hoping that the upcoming Minecraft Movie will help improve its reputation. Other films also struggled; for instance, “Novocaine” saw a 57% drop in earnings.

Indie films such as Ash and Magazine Dreams each earned $330,000. The Snow White remake stands out among the competition. Despite limited press from Disney, fans still showed up in support.
