The Diddy prison release date has been moved forward by roughly 6 weeks, according to updated records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ projected release date has shifted from June 4, 2028, to April 25, 2028. The adjustment follows his acceptance into the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), which can reduce sentences for eligible participants who complete the program successfully.
The revised date marks a change after a previously complicated sentencing timeline.
In November 2025, Combs’ release was extended from May 8, 2028, to June 4, 2028, following alleged violations of prison rules. Reports indicated he was accused of participating in a prohibited three-way phone call.
Combs has been held at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institute in New Jersey since his arrest in September 2024. Beyond the updated release date, Combs is actively appealing his conviction.
In December, his legal team filed an appeal seeking immediate release, a reversal of the conviction, or a reduced sentence. The filing argued that prosecutors failed to prove key elements of their case and that sentencing terms violated his constitutional rights.

Prosecutors submitted their opposition to the appeal in February. Combs was originally charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Following a two-month trial, he was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution and acquitted on the remaining charges. While the release date adjustment provides a clearer timeline, the outcome of his appeal could further impact his sentence.
