Security officials have identified the suicide bomber behind the deadly wedding attack in Dera Ismail Khan as an Afghan national.
The blast killed at least seven people and injured 10 others. It struck late Friday near Qureshi Morr during a wedding ceremony at the residence of a local peace committee member.
Police said guests were taking part in traditional drum dancing when the attacker entered the venue. He moved toward a room at the rear of the building, where tribal elders had gathered, and detonated the explosives. The explosion caused part of the structure to collapse.

Investigators identified the attacker as 21-year-old Abdul Rehman, an Afghan national. CCTV footage shows him wearing a white shawl as he entered the premises. Moments later, he left the main gathering area and headed toward the elders’ room before triggering the blast.
The attack occurred during the wedding of the nephew of Peace Committee head Noor Alam Mehsud, according to police officials.

Security analysts say militant networks continue to exploit bases across Afghanistan, using foreign nationals to carry out attacks inside Pakistan.
Last year, a suicide bombing outside the Islamabad District Courts also involved an Afghan national. That attack killed at least 12 people and wounded several others.
Authorities have stepped up investigations and intelligence coordination following the Dera Ismail Khan blast. Officials say they remain focused on identifying facilitators and preventing further attacks.
