President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s Senior Vice President, Dr. Shireen Mazari, is the latest to join Lock-Up Squad in the Pre-Dawn Police Sweep.
Friday’s early morning didn’t bode well for Dr. Shireen Mazari, Senior Vice President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), as she got a surprise visit from Islamabad police and not for morning tea.
The arrest adds to a growing list of PTI leaders making guest appearances in jail, including Imran Khan, Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Ali Mohammad Khan, and Senator Ejaz Chaudhry.
Except for Imran Khan, all these leaders are cozying behind bars under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) section three.
According to PTI reports, former Punjab health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid joined the party.
Freedom, but not quite for Imran Khan In a twist of events, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had his ‘get out of jail free’ card played on Thursday when the Supreme Court declared his arrest in the Al-Qadir Trust case as “illegal” and ordered his “immediate” release.
The apex court has, however, shifted him to the Police Lines Guest House, allowing him to enjoy a family night-in away from the police lights.
The next stop for Khan is the Islamabad High Court (IHC), which previously confirmed his arrest as legal. However, the court has set a new standard, stating that no one can be arrested on court grounds.
‘The Chase is On Again’ The journey to freedom for Khan seems to be a roller coaster ride.
Despite facing threats and his recent ouster, Khan has relentlessly orchestrated nationwide protests, pushing for early elections due later this year.

The land fraud case, worth a whopping seven billion rupees ($24.70 million), is one of the many, over a hundred to be precise, registered against him. If found guilty, he could bid farewell to his political career.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, however, promises a sequel to Khan’s arrest drama, stating, “We will arrest him again.”
Khan denies any misconduct that led to nationwide protests post his arrest. Protesters, in their hundreds, have brought major cities to a standstill, leading to the arrest of nearly 2,000 individuals and, sadly, the loss of eight lives.
Although Thursday was relatively calm, intermittent protests continue to add to the turmoil.
