Former Australian opening batsman David Warner has registered for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 draft, becoming the 23rd international player to participate in the event.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared this exciting news on their official social media with the caption, “ENDING 2024 ON A HIGH. The Aussie powerhouse David Warner has registered for the PSL Draft.”
Warner joins fellow Australians Usman Khawaja, Matthew Short, Sean Abbott, Alex Carey, and other players from various countries.
Warner played 112 Test matches and 161 One Day Internationals throughout his illustrious international career, scoring 8,786 and 6,932 runs, respectively. In 110 T20 Internationals, the left-handed batsman scored 3,277 runs, including one century and 28 fifties.
Currently, Warner captains the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League and recently earned the player of the match title in their last game against Melbourne Renegades, where he scored 86 runs off 57 deliveries.
The PCB previously announced that the PSL 10 player draft will be held on January 11, 2025, in Gwadar, Balochistan. They also opened the registration and trade window for foreign players earlier this month.
According to the latest announcements, Lahore Qalandars will have the first pick in the platinum category of the draft, followed by Karachi Kings. Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi will make the third and fourth picks, respectively, while Multan Sultans and Islamabad United will make the fifth and last picks in the same category.
