The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) is set to host the nation’s inaugural Data Fest-2024 at the Pak China Friendship Centre from October 21-22, 2024. This event will gather experts, researchers, and data enthusiasts from various sectors to discuss data’s essential role in policy formation and driving innovation towards a better future. The festival will address major issues such as healthcare access, social equity, and sustainable development in Pakistan.
Leading data scientists, statisticians, and IT professionals will offer motivational talks illustrating data’s transformative impact on policy and innovation. Participants will also participate in interactive workshops, exhibitions, and a data visualization contest highlighting recent technological developments. The festival’s core will involve thematic discussions on governance and climate resilience, featuring contributions from key stakeholders like NADRA, SUPARCO, UNFPA, UNICEF, and the World Bank.
The event will include 50 workshops across six stations covering diverse data integration and visualization aspects. It will also feature 80 stalls displaying the latest data products and tools from organizations such as NADRA, SUPARCO, KPITB, AJK IT Board, Pakistan Software Export Board, World Bank, UNICEF, UNFPA, Provincial Bureau of Statistics, and various IT companies.
