Before his career in WWE, Drozdov displayed his athletic prowess on the University of Maryland football fields. He later advanced to the NFL, playing for the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Denver Broncos. He transitioned into wrestling in the late 90s, enthralling audiences with his time on the Legion of Doom team, where he partnered with Animal and his unique ‘Droz’s World’ segments.

Drozdov’s family recently released a statement expressing their profound grief over the loss. They revealed that the beloved athlete had succumbed to natural causes, leaving them with deep loss and sorrow.
Known affectionately as “Droz,” Darren’s life changed dramatically after a devastating in-ring accident in 1999 during a WWE match left him quadriplegic. Despite the enormous physical challenges, Droz never lost his champion’s spirit. His positivity and determination were unwavering for 24 years, even though he was paralyzed from the neck down. He once noted, “There is always another day. Just because I’m paralyzed and stuck in a wheelchair doesn’t mean my life is over. I have learned to live again, and my life is far from over”.
The family thanked fans, teammates, colleagues, and friends for their unwavering support. Droz’s ability to put things in perspective and overcome adversity inspired all. His love for his fans and faith in humanity remained steadfast, and he treasured every interaction he had with them.
