The Dario Costa plane’s landing on a moving train stunt has captured global attention, with the Italian pilot briefly touching down on the train before taking off again in a dramatic display of precision flying.
The extraordinary manoeuvre was organised by Red Bull in Afyonkarahisar, Turkey. Costa flew a Zivko Edge 540 aircraft and attempted to land on a nine-carriage train travelling at high speed.
The challenge required perfect coordination between airspeed, timing and aerodynamic control.
Dario Costa Plane Lands on Train in Turkey
During the stunt, the Dario Costa plane lands on a train sequence that shows the aircraft descending onto a cargo container mounted on the moving train. Costa faced shifting air currents and turbulence before successfully touching down.
Seconds later, he powered up and climbed steeply back into the sky.

The 45-year-old aerobatic pilot said the stunt was among the most demanding projects of his career. He explained that landing “blind” on a narrow moving surface required intense focus and advanced flying skills. The project reportedly involved nearly two years of preparation and testing.
The aviation feat quickly sparked reactions across social media. Red Bull wingsuit athlete Sebastian Alvarez praised Costa’s precision, while Canadian diver Molly Carlson admitted she felt stressed watching the stunt.
Costa is no stranger to high-risk aerial performances. In 2021, he made headlines for flying a plane through a tunnel, further cementing his reputation as one of the world’s leading aerobatic pilots.

Extreme aviation stunts demand technical planning, coordination and safety protocols. Events like this often involve extensive rehearsal and engineering assessments to minimise risk.
The latest performance adds another milestone to Costa’s growing list of record-setting achievements.
