Peter von Tangen Buskov, a resident of Denmark, has achieved a unique Guinness World Record for “most matches held in the nose,” as recently documented by the organization. He became the inaugural holder of this record, as confirmed by the Guinness World Records (GWR) website.
For his entry into the GWR, von Tangen Buskov exceeded the minimum requirement by inserting 68 matches into his nostrils, surpassing the initial target of 45. The 39-year-old utilized a method of inserting clusters of matches simultaneously rather than individually.
Contrary to expectations, von Tangen Buskov reported no discomfort during the attempt. He attributed his success to his large nostrils and flexible skin, noting these as advantageous factors in his record-setting endeavour.
Expressing openness to surpassing his record, von Tangen Buskov speculated on future methods, including nostril training or natural changes. He humorously remarked on the potential growth of his nose with age as a factor that could aid in breaking his record.
The Guinness World Records website features a variety of nose-related records, showcasing the breadth of unique achievements recognized globally, from the fastest typing with the nose to the largest bubblegum bubble blown using the nose.
