Social media platforms, widely regarded as significant entertainment sources, increasingly show negative implications for users’ professional lives.
A recent incident underscores this trend where a female police officer was dismissed from her position after creating a TikTok video while on duty.
The officer, a lady constable assigned to the Counter-Terrorism Department in the federal capital’s police force, utilized a government vehicle during her duty hours to film the video. Once the video became public, it led to her immediate suspension and subsequent inquiry.
The inquiry, conducted by Inspector Rescue 1122, concluded with a recommendation for her dismissal, executed by SP Dolphin and Rescue, Mian Ali Raza.
The report from the inquiry officer highlighted that the constable had neglected her official responsibilities. Her actions in making the TikTok video were deemed serious misconduct and disrespectful to her uniform.
Despite being given a chance to explain her actions through a show-cause notice, the constable’s responses were unsatisfactory, leading to her dismissal based on the damage caused to the department’s reputation.
