Counter-terrorism Department (CTD) claimed to break a terror network associated with the Indian spy agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in Karachi.

According to SSP CTD Naveed Khawaja, the arrested suspects, identified as Shafiq alias Pappu, Khalid alias Dada, Mohsin and Jabbar alias Zafar Tension, are political party’s activists, who had also received combat training in India.

The SSP CTD also claimed that Javed alias Langra, played a key role in the training and for providing logistic support to the arrested suspects.

He stated that the busted RAW network was being operated from South Africa, Malaysia and Dubai.

Khawaja further said that the accused wanted to sabotage the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project by creating law and order situation in the city.

He said that several bank accounts were used for fund transactions and for that matter the CTD has contacted State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to get more details of the accounts.

A case has been registered against the accused for hatching conspiracies against Pakistan, he said, adding that several builders are also found to be frontmen for the terrorists.
