The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Balochistan has reported the elimination of eight terrorists in two separate operations within 24 hours.
Following credible intelligence, the CTD embarked on a mission in Basima, a town renowned as the tehsil headquarters in the Washuk district. As the law enforcement officers approached, they were met with hostile gunfire from the terrorists. The intense exchange of fire that ensued resulted in the neutralization of five terrorists at the location. Despite the success, three terrorists evaded capture and absconded from the scene.
During the post-operation sweep, the CTD personnel discovered various weapons and ammunition, providing further evidence of the hideout’s nefarious purpose. Efforts are underway to establish the identities of the neutralized terrorists and uncover any broader connections they might have.
Quetta Operation: Child Rescued
Shifting the scene to Quetta, another significant operation by the CTD, saw a successful rescue of a kidnapped child. The hostage situation, which had been orchestrated to secure a ransom, ended with the terrorists’ undoing. The CTD spokesperson reported the termination of three abductors during the operation. These abductors were identified as members of a criminal organization, further underlining the grave threats that the region contends with.
Similar to the raid in Basima, the Quetta operation also yielded the confiscation of arms and ammunition from the terrorist hideout, reinforcing the importance of such operations in the ongoing battle against extremist elements in the region.
