At least 14 militants were killed earlier today as security forces backed by gunship helicopters thwarted a cross border militant attack on a check post near Pak Afghan border in Bajaur agency.

Military officials said that at about 0515 hours, early in the morning, a large number of militants from across the border attacked a group of Pakistani posts situated on Nao Top.

Pakistani troops fought back bravely and repulsed this act of cross border terrorism, meanwhile, gunship helicopters were also sent as reinforcement. During the gun battle and strikes, one soldier died and two were critically injured.
