Cristiano Ronaldo showcased his skill on the soccer field again, scoring another goal for Portugal in their 3-1 victory over Poland in the Nations League on Saturday. This win marks Portugal’s third consecutive victory in the competition.
Bernardo Silva set the pace with a volley in the 26th minute, assisted by Bruno Fernandes, who cleverly headed a cross from Ruben Neves towards Silva. Ronaldo capitalized on a rebound from Rafael Leao’s shot, which hit the post after Leao’s impressive run, to score Portugal’s second goal.
At 39, the Al Nassr striker has scored in all three of Portugal’s Nations League games this season, increasing his record for men’s international goals to 133.
An own goal by Jan Bednarek later sealed the win for Portugal, the only team in League A still with a perfect record. AFP said Portugal could clinch a spot in the quarter-finals next week.
Portugal’s coach, Roberto Martinez, expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance. “We worked very hard the last few days, preparing various solutions for this game, and we could show it on the pitch. I am really satisfied because we controlled this game,” he stated.
