The Cristiano Ronaldo retirement prediction has sparked fresh debate after Portugal coach Roberto Martinez addressed the striker’s future. At 41, Ronaldo continues to defy expectations, and his coach believes retirement is not imminent.

Ronaldo is preparing for what could be his final World Cup. However, Martinez insists the decision will ultimately rest with the player himself. According to the Portugal manager, Ronaldo remains physically strong and continues to deliver on the pitch.

Speaking in an interview, Martinez praised the veteran forward’s commitment and professionalism. He described Ronaldo as a model representative of the national team.

Cristiano Ronaldo Retirement Prediction: What Martinez Said

Martinez emphasised that Ronaldo’s physical condition does not reflect a decline. He noted that statistical analysis does not show signs of deterioration. Instead, he suggested that Ronaldo’s future depends on personal judgment rather than age alone.

He's fresh and fit, which is great for our national team." pic.twitter.com/wAUBTgcA2J

“If you were to analyse a player who is physically declining, that would not be the case,” Martinez explained. He added that Ronaldo would step away when he felt he could no longer contribute effectively.

The coach also highlighted Ronaldo’s adaptability. After more than two decades with Portugal, he has adjusted his role while maintaining impact. Martinez believes that experience and discipline continue to shape his performances.

Responding to Criticism

Despite Ronaldo’s contributions, some critics question his continued call-ups on the grounds of his age. Martinez responded firmly. He argued that selections are based on current form, not past achievements.

According to the coach, Ronaldo remains an important goalscorer for Portugal. He stressed that the striker’s recent performances justify his place in the squad.

Martinez also described Ronaldo as self-critical. In his view, the player will step aside voluntarily when he feels unable to help the team. That decision, he said, will come from Ronaldo himself.

As Portugal eyes another World Cup campaign, Ronaldo appears determined to compete at the highest level. With his coach’s confidence intact, speculation about his retirement continues—but no official timeline has been set.

For now, the Cristiano Ronaldo retirement prediction remains open-ended. The final call, according to his coach, will belong to CR7.
