Court may revise state’s act of snubbing people’s rights: Nasirul Mulk

Talking on the occasion of the new judicial year at the Supreme Court on Monday, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Nasirul Mulk the court may revise state institutions’ act of snubbing the freedom of the people.

No society can flourish without law; judiciary shall remain submitted to the constitution and would also ensure that state institutions submit to the constitution as well, he added.

Justice Nasirul Mulk said that no one is to consider their constitutional power as absolute; any constitutional right can anytime be curbed.

He clarified that judges are not only supposed to interpret the constitution but (should) discourage every act of its violation.
