A District and Sessions Court in Islamabad has sentenced 25 students to jail for attempting to settle in the United Kingdom illegally using fraudulent visas.
The court denied the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) request to extend the students’ physical remand and instead placed them in judicial custody for 14 days.
The suspects appeared before Judicial Magistrate Ahmed Shehzad Gondal, where prosecutors claimed that the students had fraudulently altered passports to enter and settle in the UK. The defence lawyers submitted bail applications for the accused, which the court is scheduled to hear on March 24.
