Samiullah Afridi, the former counsel for Dr Shakil Afridi, who helped the US to hunt down slain al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden, has been ambushed in Abbottabad on Tuesday.
According to reports, Afridi returned from abroad, was driving his car through Aslam Dheri area of Mithra when shooters armed with automatic assault rifles riddled him with bullets. He likely died before the attackers had left the scene unchecked.
According to sources, he was on the hit-list of the Qaeda affiliated militants for being a part of the legal team defending Dr Shakil Afridi.
