Karachi: Chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain, has claimed that conspiracies were being hatched to weaken his party.
Addressing party office-bearers via telephone from London at Nine Zero, he congratulated his party stalwart Amir Khan on his release on bail.
“I am confident that we will emerge victorious by the Grace of Allah. All plots would come to nothing like the past,” he said.
“You have demonstrated that that determination of MQM workers cannot be shaken by the hardships of jail. I pay tribute to you and each and every worker of the MQM in jail for facing difficulties and testing times,” he further said.
Hussain said that a web of conspiracy was being knitted against the MQM, and party office-bearers are forced to leave their homes.
“If they come to their homes due to any urgency, police and Rangers immediately arrest them and implicate them in blind FIRs. They are tortured in custody for obtaining confessional statements of their choice.”
He appealed to the Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and other rights organizations to take notice of the torturing of MQM workers in custody.
Hussain said that after the Jinnahpur allegation a new series of false allegations are being levelled against the MQM.
