The 76th Emmy Awards celebrate the pinnacle of television achievements over the past year. They are hosted by “Schitt’s Creek” stars Eugene and Dan Levy at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The Emmys 2024 event promises an evening filled with glamour and intense competition. This year’s ceremony follows just nine months after the 75th Emmys were delayed due to Hollywood strikes.
“Shogun,” an FX historical epic, leads with a record 25 nominations, including Best Drama Series, setting the pace for the evening. “The Bear” follows closely with 23 nominations, setting a record for a comedy series. Other notable nominees include Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building” with 21 nominations, HBO’s “True Detective: Night Country” with 19, and Netflix’s “The Crown” also with 19 nominations.
“The Crown” makes a notable return to the Emmy spotlight after a brief hiatus, with standout nominations for Imelda Staunton and Elizabeth Debicki as Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Diana, respectively. Netflix dominates the overall nominations count at 107, closely followed by FX with 93, HBO with 91, and Apple TV+ with 72. The Walt Disney Company boasts a company-best total of 183 platform nominations.
Viewers can watch the live broadcast on ABC or stream it through platforms like Hulu+ Live TV, YouTube TV, and FuboTV.
