Karachi is experiencing continued cold weather, with Monday night’s minimum temperature reaching 10.8°C.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts that the cold, dry conditions will persist over the next 24 hours, accompanied by northeast winds blowing at speeds between 5 and 25 kilometres per hour.
Temperatures are expected to peak at 25°C, potentially dropping as low as 10°C. Light fog has reduced visibility to 2 kilometres today.
In Punjab, particularly in Lahore, the dry weather has intensified fog during the mornings and evenings, posing challenges for traffic and creating hazardous conditions.
The Met Office also indicates a possible rain system moving into Pakistan from January 18 to 20, likely bringing light showers to regions of Punjab, including Lahore.
Lahore’s temperatures have dipped to a minimum of 5°C, with highs not expected to exceed 19°C.
Forecasts from the Early Warning Centre suggest that Lahore will continue to experience dry and cold conditions in the coming days, with prevailing northeast and east winds.
