ColaNext CEO and owner Zulfiqar Ahmed has been missing for the last three days, yet the police have not found any leads.
According to his family, on July 23, eight armed men intercepted Zulfiqar Ahmed’s car and forcibly took him away in their double cabin vehicle. His wife has suggested in a petition to the Sindh High Court that his disappearance might be an enforced abduction.
The police have registered a case regarding the alleged kidnapping of Zulfiqar Ahmed. Officials stated that an abduction case under Section 365 had been filed at the Kalri police station, with textile manager Imran Malik as the complainant.
The FIR details that Zulfiqar Ahmed was travelling to Clifton with his friend Qaiser on the day of the incident. At around 6 PM, news of Zulfiqar Ahmed’s abduction was received via phone. The FIR mentions that eight armed men forced Zulfiqar Ahmed and Qaiser out of their vehicle and then took them away in their vehicle.
According to the FIR, the kidnappers later released Qaiser from the vehicle but took Zulfiqar Ahmed to an unknown location. His mobile phone has been switched off since the incident. The family had approached the police immediately after the incident, but it took two days for the case to be registered.
Due to the delay in filing the FIR, Zulfiqar Ahmed’s family petitioned the Sindh High Court. The court issued notices to the federal Ministry of Interior, Sindh Home Department, and the IG Sindh, demanding responses by July 30. Zulfiqar Ahmed also owns Paracha Textile and Meezan Oil, and his company ColaNext has recently gained significant popularity in Pakistan.
