The Chief of Army Staff, General Raheel Sharif has ordered the Corps Commanders and intelligence agencies to boost the combining operations to eliminate the militants, facilitators and their sleeper cells from the country.
Chairing the Corps Commander meeting in GHQ Rawalpindi said the cowardly attack on the judiciary carried out in a hospital was an attempt to undermine the success of operation Zarb-e-Azb. He strongly stated the valiant armed forces would not allow anyone to reverse gains against terrorism. They expressed their deepest sympathies with the aggrieved families and injured of the Quetta blast.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Commanders expressed solidarity with the families of the victims of Quetta carnage.
General Raheel said, “Quetta blast is a cowardly terror attack on the judiciary of Pakistan. It is an attempt to undermine the successes of operation Zarb-e-Azb.”
He said, “Pakistan’s brave armed forces will not allow anyone to reverse gains in war against terror.”
The Army Chief also directed Commanders to provide all necessary assistance to provincial law enforcement agencies in their capacity building through training, resourcing and planning so as to integrate them effectively in counter terrorism operations.
In the meeting, briefing was given on the ongoing military operations across the country, the ISPR added.
