During the 264th Corps Commanders’ Conference, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir addressed harmful propaganda against the armed forces and committed to decisive action against those making baseless claims undermining the security forces.
The conference honoured the sacrifices of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies (LEAs), and civilians who died for national stability.
The forum noted that baseless accusations against security forces were becoming frequent, viewing them as divisive attempts. It pledged firm counteraction by the law and constitution.
Military leaders reaffirmed their support for the government’s socio-economic goals. This includes efforts against illegal activities like smuggling, hoarding, and electricity theft.
General Munir commended the Pakistan Army and LEAs for thwarting terrorist attacks and neutralizing key terrorists. He instructed commanders to prevent terrorist activities aggressively.
The COAS emphasized the armed forces and LEAs’ determination to eradicate terrorism, which was supported by the nation.
The forum condemned a recent terrorist attack on Chinese nationals in Besham and the killing of civilians in Balochistan.
Commanders were briefed on threats from terrorist groups in Afghanistan, which compromise regional and global security and target economic interests, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The forum also discussed continuous Indian aggression in Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), reaffirming support for the Kashmiri people.
It expressed solidarity with Palestinians, condemning severe human rights violations in Gaza.
The commanders noted rising tensions in the Middle East, warning of potential broader regional conflict without immediate de-escalation.
COAS Munir directed commanders to maintain high operational readiness and motivation and strive for professional excellence through focused training.
